LASTEM & LIGO - Energy Workshop June 1st - 5th, 2026

Strengthen your students’ curiosity of energy by deepening your own in this immersive, weeklong workshop for middle and high school educators. Explore energy transformations, potential and kinetic energy, and related core concepts through hands-on investigations.

Participants will collaborate with peers and leave with standards-aligned, classroom-ready lessons and inquiry-based strategies to support meaningful student learning.

  • When:  Monday, June 1 - Friday, June 5, 2026
  • Where: LIGO Observatory in Livingston, LA
  • Benefits: $100/day stipend and mileage reimbursement, classroom materials kits, priority booking for field trips, and bus reimbursement for field trips.

GNOSTEM & LIGO - Physical Science Workshop July 13th - 17th, 2026

Reinvigorate your teaching in this weeklong workshop for middle and high school educators. Through hands-on experiments and collaborative activities, participants explore core concepts in matter, motion, energy, and waves.

Educators will strengthen content knowledge, develop NGSS-aligned lessons, and leave with classroom material kits and practical strategies to support student engagement and understanding.

  • When:  Monday, July 13 - Friday, July 17, 2026
  • Where: University of New Orleans in New Orleans, LA & LIGO Observatory, Livingston, LA
  • Benefits: $100/day stipend and mileage reimbursement, classroom materials kits, priority booking for field trips, and bus reimbursement for field trips.
