Homeschool Tours
2026-2027 Season
LIGO in Livingston, Louisiana offers free tours to homeschooled children twice yearly—once in the fall, Friday, September 25th, and once in the spring of 2027 (TBD).
Tours offer students a chance to interact with working scientists and engineers, and explore ~50 interactive exhibits in the Exhibit Hall.
What to Know about Homeschool Day
- Tour times: 9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 12:30 p.m.
- Tours last about an hour
- All visits are FREE
- All groups can explore the Exhibit Hall until 2 p.m., regardless of tour time
- Bring your own lunch—no food available on-site
- Vehicles must stay on-site during the tour (LIGO is remote and vibration-sensitive)
- Adults must remain on-site with children at all times
- Maximum 40 people per tour (children and adults, including strollers)
- Single families should join our Science Saturdays or group with other homeschool families for a tour
