News Release • August 15, 2017

On Saturday, Aug. 19th, LIGO Science Education Center in Livingston, LA, hosts its monthly Science Saturday when we are open to the public from 1 PM - 5 PM.  Lobby activities will be all about shadows and the moon in honor of the upcoming eclipse!  Learn more about using pinholes to see the eclipse, play with colored shadows, learn what causes the eclipse and more!  Tours are conducted every 30 minutes from 1 PM - 4 PM.  We will be giving out around 400 solar eclipse viewing goggles to attendees (1 per person) so that they can protect their eyes during the upcoming Eclipse.  LIGO's Science Saturdays are free and open to the public, but we request that groups of 15 or more let us know that you intend to come by filling out a tour request form.
