Mission

The LIGO's Science Education Center (SEC) aims "to inspire a sense of wonder, engage curiosity, and encourage the future STEM workforce”

At the SEC, the Education and Public Outreach team:

• Leverages the science and engineering of gravitational wave astrophysics

• Draws on the human stories of all team members across the LIGO Lab

• Cultivates enduring and mutually beneficial relationships within and across local communities

• Values the needs and goals of the local communities while respecting their expertise and experiences
