The LIGO Laboratory, comprising LIGO Hanford, LIGO Livingston, Caltech, and MIT are excited to see three of LIGO’s three longest-standing and greatest champions participate in the 2017 Nobel Prize ceremonies. LIGO Founders Rainer Weiss, Kip Thorne and Barry Barish will be awarded the Nobel prize this week in Stockholm, Sweden. On Friday, Dec. 8th they will deliver their Nobel lectures. On Sunday, Dec. 10th, at 4:30 PM Stockholm (10:30 AM EST) Rainer Weiss, Kip Thorne and Barry Barish will be presented with the Nobel prize as part of the Nobel award ceremony.
