LIGO Founders receive Fudan-Zongzhi Science Award

Professor Rainer Weiss, Kip Thorne and Barry Barish are receiving the Fudan-Zongzhi Science Award for their work envisioning, creating and guiding LIGO, which discovered its first gravitational wave on Sept. 14, 2015.  TheFudan-Zongzhi Science Award was founded by Fudan University and the Zhongzhi Enterpriese group to recognize scientists across the globe.  The award was founded in 2015, and the 2017 award is the second award ever awarded to scientists in the field of physics.  The actual award ceremony will take place on Dec. 17, 2017.  For more information check out the announcement.
