Land Acknowledgment
The four LIGO Laboratory sites sit on the the ancestral lands of Indigenous peoples. We respect and acknowledge with gratitude the traditional caretakers of these lands who have stewarded it since time immemorial.

LIGO Hanford Observatory sits on the ancestral lands of many groups, including the Walla Walla, Umatilla, Yakama, Wanapum, Cayuse, Palouse and Nez Perce peoples.
LIGO Livingston Observatory sits on the traditional lands of the Choctaw Nation. You can learn more here about the Mississippi Choctaw, and the Oklahoma Choctaw.
