Setting a Primitive's Parameters in Alfi

To make changes to the settings of a primitive node's parameters, double click on the node, and the settings dialog will appear:

At the top is an editable field containing any local comment which has been entered in this node. Below that is a list of any comments in any of this node's base nodes, from its most direct base node at top, down to the root base node at the bottom. Comments regarding this node's base nodes are read-only.

The third area contains a list of this primitive's parameters and their current settings. The labels on the left are the names of the parameters for the primitive at hand (except for the entry "<file>" to be explained below.) So, in this case, a primitive derived from the root base node not, the parameter names are threshold, true_val, and false_val.

To the right, in blue are the current default values for each parameter and information about where that default value was derived from.

In the Current Value column is either the word "DEFAULT" or an actual value. To change a setting, left-double-click in the cell containing the value, and change it. If you type "DEFAULT" exactly, then the value will revert to the default value. If the current value is highlighted in green, this means that a multi-line value has been entered as the value. A mouseover (with pause) this value will display the multi-line value in a tip. Clicking on such a cell will automatically bring up a multi-line edit window for editing it.

If you wish to place a multi-line value in a cell which does not already contain a multi-line value, right-click in the value cell and a multi-line editor will appear for the entry of the multi-line value.
