Date: August 8th, 2001
Attendees: Fred Raab, Mike Landry, Bill Butler (LHO), Bill Kells, Andrea, Virginio, Matt, Hiro, Biplab (Caltech)
Hiro gave an overview of calculation of power spectral density using E2E's "PSD_est" box.
After that Bill Butler presented his progress in finding noise curves from the darkport outputs of E2E's Han2k model. He was worried about some repeating patterns of spikes when he calculated PSD from dark port DC power. Hiro said that at that frequency level the data may not be containing anything but garbage. But Bill points out the thermal noise spikes which are visible in that frequency range (100-1000hz). The issue is not settled yet and may need more discussion.
A long discussion followed on inclusion of seismic noise (taking into consideration of correlations) and passing it through stack and the suspension system to get actual seismic noise curve. There was also discussion on finding data for realistic pitch/yaw fluctuations in locked state.
