Date: July 18th, 2001
Attendees: Ed Daw (LLO), Rick Savage (LHO), Kathy Cooksey, Luca Matone, Bill Butler, Hiro, Biplab (Caltech)
Kathy Cooksey (working with Hiro in SURF program) told about her JAVA program which calculates Gravitational wave strains in time-series which could be used in e2e simulation as an input. Both polarizations, relative position of the source wrt the detector have been accounted for in her calculations.
Bill Butler is using e2e with final goal of reproducing detector noise curves from Han2k model. Currently, electronic and frequency noises are the dominant ones and Luca is exploring those to get a realistic model of LSC system in Han2k model. Luca described how he's measuring transfer functions of electronic systems board by board and studying how the changes in gain are affecting the noise level. He also plans to look into data from earlier engineering runs.
Biplab described progress that he and Hiro are making in the studies of the mode-mismatch problem in LIGO interferometer. They've validated FP cavity satisfactorily and are now doing more vaidations on recycling summation cavities.
Biplab also described the content of the manuscript that he's writing with Rick and others on the noises in frequency sensor systems due to the presence of higher order modes and photodetector motion. Any comments? write to bbhawal@ligo.caltech.edu
