After visiting Caltech's Seismology Lab, he came over to the 40 Meter Laboratory. He heard about the LIGO project from Kip S. Thorne, Richard P. Feynman Professor of Theoretical Physics (left) and Alan Weinstein, Professor of Physics (right). He got a copy of Kip's book, asked lots of questions, and seemed to have a good time.
Various members of the LIGO project were in attendance. Also in attendance was one of his subjects, Sheila Rowan of the Glasgow Gravitational Wave Detection group, who explained about LIGO's sister project, GEO.
