Procedures for recovering from power outage at LIGO 40 Meter Laboratory v1.0, AJW, 2/4/02 CONTROL ROOM - Cycle power on all Sun workstations and monitors, they should reboot automatically. Log in as cit40m Currently: - rana (gateway from 113 net to general computing) - asterope (Dennis' desktop) - op240m - dmt140m - turn on all General Computing PCs and log in as cit40m Currently: - Steve's PC - Bob's PC - mxx - mxx - Check network switches in network rack, make sure all hubs are working - Make sure all GC computers can see, eg, the web - print to printer IFO HALL ________ - HVAC check - PSL enclosure interlock check - Check condition power units - Check all breakers OP140M and CDSSOL6 - Soon, all VME processors will boot off of op140m (currently, most boot off of cdssol6). Cycle power on these 2 machines and their monitors; they should boot automatically. Log on as controls . - Start medm on both machines; bring up epics screens for PSL, vacuum, Checklist (If DAQS and VME are down, these won't read anything useful yet). Most screens are in /export/home/controls/medm . Vacuum control screen is hidden in /export/home/40mVacScipe/adl/VacControl.adl Eventually, these should all be in op140m:/cvs/cds/Caltech/ VACUUM RACK - make sure UPS is up - power up all power strips on rack - turn on power supplies - turn on all gauge controllers - turn on rs232 breakout box - turn on vme crate - After everything looks normal on the epics screen, You may then power on TP1, TP2, TP3, and open valves. DAQ RACKS - Power on the VMIC reflective memory - turn on power supplies - turn on vme crates - power on fb40m and br40m - log on to fb40m daqd and nds should automatically start. - Check DAQ epics screen; check /usr1/frames/ for frames being logged. - If not working, kill daqd (ps -ef; kill -9 nnnn) and it will restart itself. - Run dataviewer on fb40m - Run dataviewer on, eg, dmt40m (can't do this right now?). PSL RACK - turn everything on - check PSL enclosure interlock PSL POWER - power on PSL - scan the PSL table for stray beam STACIS - Cycle power on all 4 STACIS controllers
