Charter of the LAACThe LIGO Academic Advisory Council (LAAC) is responsible for overseeing and documenting the Collaboration's activities in representing and protecting the interests of students and postdocs. The LAAC is also responsible for providing education and training activities for new students and postdocs in the Collaboration. The LAAC will report annually to the LSC Council on items relevant to the Collaboration's plans and activities for education and training for students and postdocs in the LSC. | |
MembershipThe LAAC consists of two co-chairs, two senior LSC members, two postdoctoral members, and two graduate student members. All members of the LAAC will be elected by the LSC through elections. The term of membership will be two years, and members may run for reelection. The members of the LIGO Directorate (LSC Spokesperson, LIGO Laboratory Executive DIrector, LIGO Laboratory Deputy Director) are ex-officio members of the LAAC. | |
